Word Documents (Identifyable by their ".doc" suffix).

If you use Word 97 or perhaps anything before Word 2003, you may have to install Microsoft's "Microsoft Office Word Viewer 2003" by clicking on ...
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=95E24C87-8732-48D5-8689-AB826E7B8FDF&displaylang=en
and by following the displayed instructions (E.g. "Download", "Run", "I Accept", "Next", "Install").

Note that files whose names do not end in "Fonts.doc", do not contain copies of the fonts used. If document formatting is important, check that "Tools > Options > Compatibility > Font substitution". is blank, or ask me for a file with fonts included.

Adobe PDF files (identifyable by their ".pdf" suffix)

These will be version 1.3 files, and should open in almost any version of Adobe reader. However, if you have not got a pdf reader, or have problems, go to http://www.adobe.com, click on "Get ADOBE READER". Click on "Continue". If an "Information Bar" warning appears, "Close" it, click on the Warning bar and select Install "ActiveX Control...". If an "Internet Explorer - Security Warning" box appears, click "Install".

For Gantt Charts (identifyable by their ".pln" or ".mpx" suffix)

Download and install the planning software from
http://www.twiddlebit.com/planwin32.htm (30 days free, then £20); open "Twiddlebit Plan for Windows" from the start window; save my emailed attachment; and then open the resulting file from "Plan > File > Open".
(Note that versions of Plan earlier than 3 may not be able to open ".pln" files).
